Welcome to
PIAUGIER
We are winemakers in Sablet, at the heart of the famous Dentelles de Montmirail mountain range, in the Vaucluse department, in the southern Rhône Valley.
The estate is a family story, passed down from generation to generation. After Marc Autran, who himself succeeded his father and his grandfather Alphonse, Jean-Marc and Sophie took over the estate in the 1980s, with the desire to develop it while respecting its roots. Today, their eldest daughter, Maude, is joining them to continue this adventure and write the next chapter.

Our estate extends across a mosaic of soils and exposures, between Sablet and Gigondas.
Day after day, we cultivate our vineyard with the intention of preserving what makes it so rich: the diversity of its terroirs, its plots, and its grape varieties.

This diversity guides each of our decisions, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. We farm organically, respecting natural balances, and strive to support the vine rather than constrain it.
We pay particular attention to our old vines, which we tend with great care, encouraging interplanting whenever possible. At the same time, we gradually evolve our vineyard, with new plantings each year. This step-by-step approach allows us to prepare for the future without disrupting the existing balance.
Grenache, the backbone of our wines.
While Grenache remains our flagship grape variety, we enjoy exploring and nurturing the Rhône Valley’s ampelographic diversity. We are experimenting with new plantings, notably Cinsault and Counoise, which enrich our range and inspire our ongoing reflections.
From vineyard to cellar, every choice is guided by the same intention: to sincerely express the identity of our terroirs and to craft living wines that remain true to their origin.
